Naturally, when we think about treating our skin we tend to only concentrate on our face – everybody sees it! However, keeping the skin on your body feeling healthy, refreshed and nourished requires a little more effort than a regular shower! The great news is that once we show our skin a little TLC it pays dividends and can make us feel fantastic!
Choose a gentle soap or body wash that won’t dry out your skin or affect the pH. (GDC – Shower Gel), add a generous squirt to your loofah and cleanse your body.
Go easy on the water temperature, hotter does not mean cleaner. Tepid water is much kinder on your skin.
If a cold shower isn’t appealing, introduce a final rinse with cold water for a toning effect. You will be surprised by how energised you feel afterwards.
Like our face, the skin on the body benefits from a weekly exfoliation; this encourages the elimination of dead skin which can make the skin look dull – especially after sun exposure. Simply dampen the skin and massage the scrub in circular motions. For a summer glow, use Germaine de Capuccini Phytocare Tonic Oil Scrub, the Baobab seed will buff and nourish the skin. .
