Two fantastic videos to spice up your workout
This weekend our gym will be braving a ‘zombie apocalypse run’ in the name of fitness! Obstacle racing is becoming very popular. Alongside the opportunity to be a little crazy they test your grit and perseverance, provide a fantastic workout and promote camaraderie!
We have caught up with the team during their preparations to discover the training required to take on 10 obstacles across a 5k course! Even if you aren’t considering a 5 km run amongst blood thirsty swarms of zombies, the workouts below are sure to develop your core, improve your agility and challenge your fitness.
Total Body Conditioning
with Lisa and Brittany
Designed to work every part of the body in preparation for the challenge, this routine will improve your posture for running whilst activating lower body muscles for extra speed. Goblet squats and crab walks will strengthen the legs to scale the inflatable mountain. Toe taps and Russian twists will work the core while the chest press and bent over row will work the upper body strength ready to storm the walls!
Cardio training with Nina and Jamie.
This workout is focused on improving fitness and speed. Quick bursts of cardio work will help boost endurance whilst burning calories! Squat jumps will progress your power needed for the hurdles. Side suicides will challenge your agility ready for the ripple runner and the inch worm will develop the flexibility needed for the temple of doom!
