Exclusive Wellness Guided Relaxation (Video)
Guided relaxation
For the ultimate sense of calm, our Wellness team have put together a guided relaxation sequence for you to try in the comfort of your own home. It’s the perfect audio aid if you need to re-focus yourself. Try it next time you’re in the spa, pop your headphones on and take a few moments to relax as Wellness Coach Kasia talks you through a relaxation routine.
Apps
Although everyone tells us to ‘put the phone down’, here we suggest putting them to good use. The evolution of meditation and wellbeing apps has unlocked a whole new way to relax for on-the-go, busy people. The apps use different techniques including visual aids, spoken meditation and breathing exercises to help us to de-stress and become more mindful during periods of anxiety, pressure and insomnia. There are also a range of different focus areas if you feel as though you are struggling with a specific emotion such as stress, anxiety or sleep.
HeadSpace: Learn mindfulness techniques through guided meditation.
Calm: Escape and unwind as you listen to sleep stories, relaxing music or breathing programs.
Pause: Regain focus with Pause, this app is based on Tai Chi and is perfect for mindfulness on the go.
“Really soothing, even if you don’t want to sleep it is a nice way to relax and calm down. Feels tailored to you as you can choose to focus on improving certain things with meditation courses” – Calm user
You can also use them wherever and whenever so catching a few minutes of mindfulness has never been simpler whether it’s on your daily commute to work or relaxing at home. Why not try one of the apps out next time you’re in our Tepidarium? Plug in your headphones and switch off on one our heated mosaic stone loungers and try a 10 minute mindfulness routine.
Movement
Exercise and frequent activity is great for our general wellbeing and can help to de-stress and relax our minds and bodies. Our Stretch and Flex and Holistic Core classes are designed to improve well-being by focusing on mobility, posture, balance and flexibility. By combining gentle exercises with stretch sequences the classes create a unique holistic experience. Sign up or ask one of our Wellness Coaches about it.
For something a little more traditional, why not try Tai Chi? Practiced for centuries, Tai Chi promotes wellbeing, strength and balance through weight shifting dance-like movements. Combining breathing and movement, Tai Chi is great for improving posture and reducing stress. The class is great for any age group as it is a low-impact exercise. Give it a go at Pulse 8!
